This Friday Jules, Holly and I travelled to London for the Brit Writers Awards Dinner, as Holly was a finalist in the Under 16s Short Story category. I have decided to give up all hope of becoming a writer, and to live vicariously through my daughter from now on. She has much more talent!
The dinner was held at Madame Tussaurds, and it was a fantastic venue. We had a brilliant evening - there are those who might think we had too much fun...
Even though Holly didn't win, she said that she "felt like a winner." My only gripe about the evening was that Jules wouldn't let me take Johnny Depp - all dressed up as Captain Jack, godammit - back home with me. Never mind, there's always next year...
